I would like to thank everyone who came for the Shi Bai de gathering on 1st august 2009. Thanks to our special guests who make this gathering possible too - Samuel and Jun Kang. The steamboat was fabulous.

I think to make things simpler, lets have a gathering on every 1st saturday of the month.

Is that possible?

So the next gathering would be on 5th september 2009.

The agenda would obviously be to celebrate MY birthday.

On top of that, if there is really any major objections to the dates in the post below, I was thinking of recommending 10th of august for all of you to consider?? That is if everyone is free cause its a public holiday and I dont think NS is that bad to lock you guys in camp. =x

In view of the upcoming college day and national day, we would like to call for a celebratory stayover at someone's place.

Dates of availability : 1 August 2009 / 8 August 2009 (Please vote for one via the cBox.)
Venue : Daniel's place (If there is objections or volunteering of other places for the stayover, please kindly post on the cBox or sms me.)
Activities : Fish therapy (if interested) , movies , not forgetting our favourite bridge game. (For suggestions of activities, please also do so via the cBox.)

I would hope that every one is free, and KNOWN-outsiders are welcome (probably should let us know first, so we can be mentally prepared). We are a bunch of sociable people and I think we are short of players for 2 tables of bridge.

The POWER of being SHORT

Partially inspired by Eric Tsang's (曾志伟) joke on 獎門人 regarding one of the contestants, I shall write a deviation based on the contestan'ts reply.

10 reasons why you should be born short:

1.You won't die easily in battle. Cuz the tall people can't fit in the trenches.

Secretary would like to THANK EACH AND EVERYONE of the BA for celebrating her birthday yesterday. Siyi, Clarice, Bryan, Leon, Hayden, Zimin, Siuyin, Daniel and collaborating with the BizClub people, Jiaxian, EC, Charles, SyEn and Geraldine. Sorry if I appeared disappointed/sad/unhappy or not very happy, I was kind of tired because the nigt before didn sleep very well. I really appreciate all the efforts for preparing and planning everything, judging from the Part 1 and Part 2 and the skipping of recess to do something to the box and of course, to cut the lovely heart shape and put the 18 marbles inside the cakes. this is regarding the chalet thingy we are going to have during the december holidays

date: 8-10 december 2008

anyone who is leaving singapore during this period of time, please confirm with miie, so that i can start booking during the september holidays

this is because that price will increase when its nearer to the holidays

secondly, i need you guys to vote for the venue

currently, we have 3 options in mind

aloha loyang [which i don't know the price]
costa sands downtown east [slightly more than $200]
costa sands pasir ris [$160 - $200, but there's no bbq pit]

please choose one, okies?? and tag on the taggie

lastly, i want to mention about the budget

it may be slightly more than what you guys expected.

this is because of the super high chalet fees during the december holidays, and we have to get the birthday presents for people whose birthday celebrations will be missed due to prelims and a'levels. not forgetting the rising food prices

we will be celebrating boey's, leon's and daniel's birthday, and and and mine too...

please vote, then i'll work out the sums again during september holidays

the money will also be collected via installments, so you guys won't feel so pressurized paying up...

what an interesting topic... and yup, its written by the secretary herself. i feel so wierd writing this... i dont know if you people are still thinking of what to get for me, but from the secretary's point of view. anything is fine. anything BUT soft toys. no more space in the house already. and my mum is complaining also... i told siuying abit that day when we went to buy zimin's present, zimin and i was talking about it on msn yesterday. here's what we said:

good morning, good afternoon, good evening (i dont know what time you are reading this but heres what i have to say...)

i want to share with you an anectode (pardon my spelling) about what happened to me today, whilst on the way home from school, i met a long lost friend and reconciled with him, he was my pri school friend and i had only recently remembered though he is attending the same sch wif us. We started to chat at the bus stop and what struck me was what he said, "this is our LAST CHANCE, in pri school we could play around and do not so well for PSLE, in secondary school we can also try slightly harder but still fool around and get decent grades for 'O's, but 'A' levels, is our final chance, it will determine if we get into a good uni, a good job and a good career. So if you want to play hard the way we did in pri sch, we can strive hard together and finish this race. After that, we can play like in pri sch. Lets meet up next time and show each other our good results"

I guess you must be wondering who this mysterious person must be... he's none other than Jian Rui, yep one of the top scorers of physics and chem, we came from the same pri school and now met up in JC. this goes to show how unpredictable life is (but thats another topic for another time)

what i want to tell u guys reading this is to not give up hope! Yes we didnt do very well for mid years, neither did we do extraordinary in our subjects, but one last push is all we need, one last sprint to complete the race. So lets persevere on and try our best, let us go the extra mile and when we recieve our results we can exclaim, "we did our utmost, and we dont regret it".

so work hard, study smart, but most importantly HOPE. I hope because i believe, and with it half the paper is conquered.

To everyone: dun feel sad over poor mid year results. just study harder for prelims and A levels. even though there's quite little time left, there's still time to make improvements if we work hard for it. if we fail, try and try again. as long as we dun give up hope, there's always a glimpse of light in every bad situation. hardworking ppl will eventually be rewarded. =)

There is nothing better than to be oneself. so rather than taking too much notice about what others say, how one feel should be more significant. =) even if one faces many obstacles, the world would not stop spinning. so we should just get over with the troubles and move on with life. learn to appreciate every happenings in life instead of finding faults with it and living will be so much happier. its easier to smile than frown. =)

Probably one of the best ways to end off the 'sure do finish, sure wana go faint" Mid-Years. And it's none other than a session of BRIDGE!!
And somehow, for some reason, people in Ba are starting to become very fiond of scolding...Baka...Baka this, Baka that..very soon we'll be like NiNi the baka version..NiNi is the F*** version..LOL...lame...
Since I'm a bit too tired to type, and too engrossed in my anime, I shall post6 lots n lots of pictures and make stupid commentaries about them. Ok? Sorry, I'm lazy.=)

Hey Don't start slacking around yo! Prelims are round the corner. To be specific, it's 8 weeks. And 8 weeks is not a very long time to push our Us to Cs and Ds.

K outing tmr, or so we've heard. We need to make a plan asap about what to do, where and when. Or else end up not doing anything and wasting time. Time is of essence. And we have 8 weeks of it left.

While we take these short breaks to rest our minds from the nightmare of the mid years, please think of ideas of how we can make the birthdays extra special and memorable for these birthday babies for their remaining months in JC.

Let them leave JC and still remember the wonderful 18th birthday they had as it was such an unforgettable experience.

This is my very first approach in interactive learning.
